🎮 Tencent launches a second Age of Empires Mobile game to compete with Last War: Survival

After launching a real-time strategy Age of Empires Mobile game last year (here’s our review), Tencent is back at it again - this time with a hypercasual Age of Empires game set to compete with Last War: Survival.

You know, Last War: Survival… that game you’ve likely seen a hundred ads for, where your group of units moves towards hordes of enemies while you swipe left and right to enter various unit multiplier gates:

That game has made $3 billion since launch, and now the Age of Empires franchise wants a piece of the market. So they’ve launched Age of Empires: Survival on Android in the US, with a store page that looks almost identical to that of Last War: Survival.

But hey, when companies rush to destroy massive IPs from the 90s, it’s a good thing we’ve got hundreds of fantastic indie devs bringing fantastic games to mobile <3
